(NC)-Ask any golfer - you can learn the game, but you will never perfect it. You can, however, work to improve your performance on the course by fitting yourself with appropriate golf equipment, scheduling time to practice, and taking lessons from a Canadian PGA Professional.

"No matter what level of golfer you are, everyone needs some help with their swing from time to time," says Gary Bernard, the Canadian PGA's Director of Education. "Taking a lesson with a certified Canadian PGA professional is the best way to ensure you are learning in a specialized atmosphere with tested and proven teaching methods."

Recently, the Canadian PGA and Callaway Golf Canada partnered to create a lesson program that offers golfers a complimentary 30-minute lesson with a Canadian PGA professional with the purchase of a Callaway Golf driver or 8-piece set of irons between April 1 and July 31, 2008.

The lesson program is endorsed by world-renowned golf instructor David Leadbetter, author of seven books on the golf swing and coach to four players who have held the # 1 Official World Golf Ranking.

"The importance of instruction from a certified golf professional cannot be overstated," said Leadbetter, who was in Toronto recently to help launch the program. "The Callaway Golf/CPGA Free Lesson Program was created to offer holistic, tangible benefits to every golfer's game."

"We wanted to introduce golfers purchasing new equipment to the benefits of having Canadian PGA instruction - particularly those who might not otherwise encounter it - while at the same time offering a tune-up or extra time to golfers who already take lessons," added Callaway Golf Canada's Manager of Golf Education Barry Wallis. "While new technology in clubs, along with proper fitting, will help improve your golf game, instruction is also an important part of becoming a better golfer."

The Canadian PGA - North America's oldest professional golf association, founded in 1911 - is a non-profit, member-based organization representing over 3,800 golf professionals across Canada.
