Canada Post and eBay - a partnership for small-town entrepreneurs
(NC)-Canadians love to shop online, especially on eBay where we bought and sold over $7 million worth of NHL rookie cards last year and spent more than $29,000 a day on handbags.
Smaller communities have reaped the benefits of buying and selling online, proving that location doesn't matter on eBay.ca. Just ask the residents of Kemptville (ON), Fort Nelson (BC), Kingston (NS) or Ste-Marthe-Sur-Le-Lac (QC), towns that represent some of the online giant's top 10 Canadian buying and selling communities.
"An eBay business gives anyone the opportunity to become an entrepreneur," says Andrew Sloss, eBay Canada's country manager. "The Flat Rate Box takes the guesswork and the legwork out of shipping items sold on eBay."
Sellers often wrestle with finding the proper box and estimating shipping costs in their listings - until now. The new Canada Post eBay Flat Rate Box gives sellers the simplicity of three flat rates - Regional, National and USA. Anything that fits in this sturdy box, up to 5 kg (11 lbs), ships. The boxes fit a variety of items sold on eBay and are available free (shipping and handling applies). Sellers use labels that are printed using the eBay shipping tool.
"Our staff are often asked to help eBay sellers calculate the shipping costs of sending their goods," said Dawn Adams, from the Kemptville Post Office. "The new Flat Rate Box takes the guess work out of the shipping process, meaning a much smoother shipping experience for eBay users."
