FACEinstitute.ca - Canada's first online resource for cosmetic treatment information

Provided By:

(NC)-Lasers, peels, fillers, creams and Botox…The beauty arena is certainly expanding. And as more women explore their cosmetic treatment options, non-surgical procedures are on the rise.

With so much choice, it's not surprising that concerns over treatment options, safety, and efficacy are growing. According to the recent FACE Institute Cosmetic Enhancement Survey, more than half (57 per cent) of all Canadian women are confused by their cosmetic treatment options.

The FACE (Facial Aesthetic Care and Education) Institute website, FACEinstitute.ca is a first-of-its-kind online resource designed to clear up this confusion. The site, designed in consultation with Canada's leading cosmetic physicians, allows consumers to easily access important information before receiving a cosmetic treatment.

"There are so many myths about cosmetic enhancement treatments. It's important for consumers to get the right facts so they can make informed treatment choices," says Burlington's Dr. Channy Muhn, a dermatologist and prominent cosmetic physician who with his partner, Dr. Nathan Rosen, are the directors of Dermetics, Centre for Advanced Skin Care and Anti-Aging Medicine, and members of the FACEinstitute.ca Editorial Board. "FACEinstitute.ca will answer common questions, educate women about their options, and underscore the importance of trained professionals in appropriate medical settings."

Once online, women can:

• Learn all the facts about popular treatments such as Botox, microdermabrasion and skin peels

• Compare information and benefits of different treatments

• Test drive a new look with the 'Before and After Visualizer'

• Locate a qualified doctor by region

• Read personal stories of other women who have had cosmetic treatments
