(NC)-Are you wondering how Ontario greenhouse vegetables taste? Do you have the desire to bite into a juicy plump tomato, refreshingly crisp cucumber or a tasty sweet pepper? Look no further than your local grocer!

This May and June, there will be 350 sampling stations* set-up across Ontario to give consumers a taste of Ontario greenhouse vegetables. This is the perfect opportunity to familiarize yourself with where to find these veggies at your local grocer.

Not only will you get to taste some of the best veggies around, but everyone who tastes will receive three recipe cards, detailing information about the food safety program, environmental stewardship and integrated pest management systems- with delicious recipes from the Ontario Greenhouse Gourmet recipe book.

Want the whole Ontario Greenhouse Gourmet recipe book? If you answer a short survey at the sampling station, you will receive a recipe book for free (while supplies last). The recipe book contains simple, yet elegant recipes perfect for any appetizer, salad, soup or main course.

Wondering when you can find these veggies at your grocer? They are available throughout Ontario the majority of the year. In fact, Ontario greenhouse cucumbers are available year-round, and tomatoes and sweet peppers are available from March-November. Efforts are currently being made in research to find more cost-effective ways to make all three vegetables available year-round.
