Put the "fun" in school fundraising

(NC)-The start of another school year means the start of a number of school related fundraising campaigns. Some will help schools themselves, and some will support causes near and dear to students. From buying some chocolate covered almonds to helping organize events, teachers and parents are often called on to help. With all the other demands of the school year, here are some tips to make school fundraising fun and enjoyable for everyone:

Know where to start: Trying to find time between piano lessons and grocery shopping to help your kids put together a fundraiser can be difficult. Fortunately, websites like www.ccfcanada.ca offer an easy to follow step-by-step fundraising kit for your children and class to follow.

Piggy back on already planned events: What could be easier than raising money for a good cause while playing baseball or watching a talent show? Schools already have a number activities planned where you could sell treats, or charge guests to attend. You'd be surprised how many parents love to support events like these.

Maximize your resources: Selling boxes of almonds can really cut into fundraising profit margins, so look for ways to sell things you can get for free. All kids have more than enough energy, especially when they feel like they are getting noticed. Consider having a services auction where groups of students auction off their time to clean houses, vacuum cars or do yard work.
