Holiday Greetings

(NC)-How you send packages to your loved ones is just as important as what you send them, according to Canada Post. "Starting early will save money and take some of the stress out of the frenzied holiday season," says Marc Smith, director, Product Management, Canada Post, "but no matter when you're ready to send your gifts and greetings, Canada Post has a service that will get them there by December 24."

If you're ready early…

Regular parcel services are the most economical way to ensure holiday packages arrive before Santa. For delivery before the big day, mailing deadlines are:

• December 12 - within Canada

• December 3 - U.S.

If it's taken you a little longer to find that "special" gift… Xpresspost is the service for you.

• December 22 - within Canada

• December 15 - U.S.

• December 10 - worldwide destinations, service available to select countries only, check with your local post office for details.

If you needed until the last minute to get that perfect item… In Canada, the fastest service is Priority Courier. For destinations in the U.S. and abroad it's the newest Canada Post service, Priority Worldwide - delivery to the U.S. in one day and globally in just a few days.

• December 23 - within Canada

• December 22 - U.S.

• December 17 - worldwide destinations, service available to select countries only, check with your local post office for details.

Holiday cards and greetings for local delivery need to be mailed by December 19, by December 18 for delivery within the province and by December 17 for outside the province. More information is available online at www.canadapost.ca/mailingdates or at your local post office.
